As some of you know, last Thursday was our official Grand Opening/Open House party here at Richard Photo Lab at our new location at 979 N. La Brea Ave. Guests got a chance to check out the lab and the PRS Outpost, visit a Fuji promo table featuring rolls and processing coupons and browse through a collection of beautifully crafted albums at a Cypress Albums table..
In preparation for the party, we thought it’d be a cool idea to make business cards promoting this website (we just love our logo and knew others would too!) We printed a bunch of cards and placed them randomly throughout the lab to catch the eye of film photographers… and that it did! We received such positive feedback on the cards; guests were taking them home for their own personal use left and right. We even ran out of cards by the end of the night! We knew our film photographers would get a kick out the idea of “still love film.”
Many thought the promo cards were stickers (unfortunately they were not) but I thought that would be a great idea to make in the future. I spoke with several film enthusiasts that night and put together the top 3 ideas they had for the Still Love Film cards:
1. Turn them into stickers- from sticking them on refrigerators to car bumpers, they had some good spots to show their love for film!
2. Make them pins – to adorn clothes and bags
3. Give it to an artist and turn it into a TATTOO! A guest suggested how great a tattoo it would be! Now that’s a hardcore love of film!
While our party was going on, another Grand Opening party was taking place right down the street – the opening of the LA Lomography store. We found this photo when developing rolls of film from their party! It was taken by staff member Lindsay Hutchins at Lomography LA with a Lomo Actionsampler Flash. Look what made an appearance in the photo!
